Hanging Out

Basement couch and movies we've already seen;  
     sequels you'd watch even though you never saw the first part,  
     and you wouldn't watch it unless my smile would convince you otherwise.  
 
And we never faught in anger.  
     And we never cried in disappointment,  
     because even though we often failed,  
     we never ceased to try.  
 
Vegetarian trials and fainting on our best friend's corner.  
Crying as you helped me to my feet.

Story TimeMaybe this story has no man,  And no painful childhood memories of falling off the porch swing,    with father laughing,    and mother telling you to grow up,        because she can't remember what it was like to fall.   
This story has no lesson.  There's no moral or symbolism or even careful irony.  Somewhere deep inside there's probably an event,      but events can be easily forgotten,      and no matter how intense they were,      times dulls them down and covers them up with Story Time

Lonely, is your little pet,  So cold and wet,  Waiting to be lost in your debt.  A safety net.   
I can't believe that I would let,  And fret,  And never get,  The expectations I have set.

Ode To Muffin TopsI love my muffin top.  My luscious, almost edible display of skin.  Pale,  With veins marking green lines,  Almost like ... graph paper mapping me.   
Soft, chunky muffin top.  Like a lifesaver wrapping around my waist.  Keeping things from hurting me;  As they bounce back from it and I keep on walking.  (Walking slowly, as it's quite a heavy muffin top.)
